If you have been following any influencer or fashion blogger on Instagram within the past few weeks, I am sure you have probably had enough of them talking about the Semi-Annual Nordstrom Sale. Am I right, or am I right??
Now, I am all for a good sale but I have to say when looking through the sneak peek at the sale, I couldn’t help but be slightly disappointed for a number of reasons. First, I live in Florida, and while it doesn’t really matter where you live, I think we can all agree that this summer has seen some record high temperatures. So, why is Nordstrom holding a sale on their Fall Collection?! It’s too freakin’ hot to be thinking about booties, boots, cardigans, leather jackets, jeans, or anything else fall related. And, let me just say, that I completely understand that this is how the fashion world works..seasonal collections roll out usually a few months before the season arrives. But I mean, come’on, it’s 100 degrees here today, I can not even begin to think about anything fall fashion until a slight breeze arrives here.
Secondly, I am not sure what type of income other bloggers are making, and to be honest, it’s really none of my business, nor is it any of my business if they are spending their significant others money, but one thing I can tell you is that a “sale” means less than a certain price point. I am not spending over 75$ on one item unless it’s something I have obviously been saving for, and my boyfriend is not about to willingly let me “borrow” one of his credit cards for anything. For example, I would love to have a Tory Burch handbag, but I’m not buying one for more than $150. Now, with that being said, there is a small Tory Burch handbag that is featured for $151.99 in the Nordstrom Sale, but ya girl ain’t buyin’ it. I’m trying to stock up, not spending all my savings on one item.
After looking through the sale, that officially went live on the 14th, I got an idea of looking through Amazon for the same clothes. I’ve found things on Amazon previously that were cheaper than for what I could buy them in the store, so I figured why not just look. To my amazement, I found the exact body-con dress that I have seen on all my favorite bloggers, for a fraction of the cost (actually, the dress is not featured in the Nordstrom Sale, but still goes for around $60). Needless to say, I bought the dress in three different colors for $17.99 a piece!
Now, although this post is about how you can find the same Nordstrom styles for cheaper on Amazon, I want to make a confession..I did still shop the Nordstrom Sale! There were a few items that I couldn’t find on Amazon that were on the sale, and plus I went to my local Nordstrom and found a few items that I just couldn’t live without. I will be posting the items that I found at my local Nordstrom below, as well as the items that I found during the Nordstrom Sale vs what I found on Amazon.
The Nordstrom Sale will officially go live on July 20th for all of those who aren’t cardholders. While there isn’t a sure way for non-cardholders to see everything that the sale is encompassing, my suggestion is to shop Amazon first (since its obviously cheaper) then if you find something worth having during the sale, BUY IT, and if its a duplicate of an Amazon item, then return one or the other. I will say this about the Nordstrom Sale, if you find something you like/love, BUY IT, because it WILL SELL OUT.
Item number 1 – Nordstrom’s Leith Tie Front Pant for $45.90 (Sale) vs Amazon’s Grace Karin Cropped Paper Bag Waist Pants with Pockets $24.99
Plus these Grace Karin pants come in 5 different colors, and some with the option of being shorts
Item number 2 – Nordstrom’s BLANKNYC A-Line Suede Skirt $64.90 (Sale) vs Amazon’s MakeMeChic A-Line Bodycon Mini Faux Suede Skirt $13.99
Again, the Amazon skirt out does Nordstrom because it comes in 4 different colors, however, if you want fewer options, the Nordstrom skirt does come in 1 additional color.
Item number 3 – Nordstrom’s BP. Twist Front Sweater $31.90 vs Amazon’s YOINS Cross Front V Neck Long Sleeves Sweater $18.99
Nordstrom’s option does come in another color, but again Amazon wins with 8 different color options.
Item number 4 – Nordstrom’s Halogen Violet Genuine Calf Hair Mule $64.90 (Sale) vs Amazon’s STEVE by Steve Madden Valent-l Slip-on Loafer $53.99
See what I mean..Always look for better deals, because most of the time you will be able to find them!
Please let me know if you guys find any other amazing deals and I will be posting another post hopefully next week about what I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
XOXO
